Program description
The Manufacturing Academy (MA), sponsored by the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) offers a solid foundational career pathway into aerospace and advanced manufacturing apprenticeship opportunities. This 10-week, recognized pre-apprenticeship program is currently offered in Seattle, Kent, and Tacoma locations. Manufacturing Academy students will learn both soft skills and technical skills to include but not limited to applied math, assembly, introductory machining, blueprint reading, welding, interview techniques, and industry tours with AJAC partnering companies. Upon completion, students will have the basic foundational skills to find gainful entry-level employment and may meet the minimum qualifications to pursue additional career pathways in advanced manufacturing through AJACs portfolio of apprenticeship programs.

Entrance requirements
High school diploma or GED. Mechanical skills or aptitude. Enjoy working with your hands in a fast-paced environment. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Pass pre-employment drug screen. Ninth grade math and reading proficiency. Eligibility to work in the United States.
