Program description
Designed with input from the Port of Tacoma and PLU's School of Business, the Certificate in Maritime Management addresses this important local industry's need for knowledgeable middle managers. Participants gain vital knowledge about maritime law and regulation, applied management theory, and vessel and terminal operations, as well as tour the Port of Tacoma. As is the case with all programming in Continuing Education, course sessions are led by experts in the field, including MacMillan-Piper CEO, Mark Miller. Program Benefits: Taught by experienced industry professionals. VIP guest speakers from the Northwest Seaport Alliance. Behind-the-scenes tour of the Port of Tacoma. Convenient Saturday classes don't interfere with work hours. Topics cover everything from vessel and terminal operations to maritime law and management skills.
